The HALS-48-2L-LED-C-D-V2 Emergency LED Light Fixture for Hazardous Locations is a 4 foot long, 2 lamp, Class I Division 2 Groups A, B, C and D dimmable LED light and a good choice for use in industrial applications and wet areas. This 0-10V dimming fixture is T6 temperature rated and comes standard with two T-8 fluorescent style LED lamps which produce a combined 7,000 lumens of light. The housing on this unit is constructed of powder coated 16 gauge steel for durability and contains a hinged reflector and ballast tray for easy and safe servicing. The lamps are held in place by spring loaded sockets and protected by a hinged glass door with a 3/16" tempered glass lens which is secured with four turn latches.

The emergency LED light fixture features 0-10V dimming capabilities. This gives operators the ability to manually adjust the brightness of the LED lamp quickly and easily. The 0-10V dimming allows for adjustments to fit the brightness needs of any lighting situation. A 0-10V dimmable light works through the use of a DC control signal that ranges between zero and ten volts. The basic idea is that at 10 volts of input the light is at its brightest level with 0 volts being the lowest possible dimness setting. The smooth, continuous and flicker-free dimming of a 0-10V dimmable LED light is ideal for a wide range of different lighting applications.
This dimmable fixture is universal voltage and can be operated with voltages of 120-277V AC. This fixture is IP65 rated water and dust-proof and is approved for wet and marine locations. This 0-10V dimming fixture also features multiple 1/2" NPT wiring hubs with two located on top of the fixture and two more located at each end, allowing operators to through-wire multiple units in series or mount the unit with wire through conduit pendant mounts.
The emergency backup LED light works, mounts and is wired like our EPL-48-2L-LED explosion proof LED light fixtures. The main difference is that we add a battery backup unit that adds emergency light functionality to the fixture. With an integrated emergency ballast, this explosion proof LED light will continue to operate one LED lamp for 90 minutes at 3,500 lumens after the main electrical power to the light is severed. Once standard electrical power is restored, the emergency battery pack will be recharged. The battery backup unit includes a switched leg for turning the light fixture on/off without kicking the unit into emergency mode.
We have eliminated the ballast normally associated with explosion proof fluorescent fixtures which reduces overall weight and overall complexity of installation. There is no ballast in this unit and the included LED lamps have a 50,000+ hour service life, both of which result in extreme efficiency and greatly reduced maintenance costs. These fluorescent-style LED lamps have internal drivers, eliminating external power components. The solid state design of the LED lamps give this fixture superior resistance to damage from vibration, extremes in temperature and a lamp service life over twice that of standard fluorescent bulbs. This second generation lamp is offered in blue, red or green.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
The 28 watt LED lamps produce 30% more illumination than standard T8 bulbs while offering lower amp draw and increased reliability. Each lamp produces 3,500 lumens at 120 lumens per watt, for a combined 7,000 total lumen light output. An HALS-48-2L-T8 explosion proof fluorescent light, with a combined total of 64 watts, draws 0.54 amps at 120 volts AC. This LED version of the same light, with a total of 56 watts, draws only 0.47 amps at 120 volts AC. The HALS-EMG-48-2L-LED-C-D-V2 is universal voltage, not multi-tap, and operates on any voltage from 120V to 277V AC 50/60hz without any modifications.

The HALS-EMG-48-2L-LED-C-D-V2 provides operators in hazardous locations with a very durable, reliable and affordable lighting solution for open areas where flammable chemicals and vapors may occasionally be present.
Adjustable Surface Mount Brackets Two L-brackets enables it to be simply secured to any flat surface. Three through holes provide sufficient mounting for any environment. Once the brackets are mounted to a surface (ceiling, floor or wall), the light fixture can be repositioned by removing the adjustment bolts, rotating the fixture, and re-inserting the adjustment bolts in pre-drilled holes.
Suspension Mounting: Pendant mount fixtures hang from the ceiling and are suspended by rigid pipe. Each fixture is equipped with two 1/2€ NPT hubs, one on each end of the fixture. Operators bring rigid pipe down to the threaded mounting hubs. Wiring is fed down through the rigid pipe to one of the NPT hubs and tied in to the fixture`s lead wires, completing the electrical connection. The remaining pendant hub provides support for the opposite end of the fixture.
Suggested Applications: Aircraft maintenance, Oil drilling rigs, Refineries, Solvent and cleaning areas, Gas processing plants, Chemical manufacturing, Waste treatment plants, Gas processing plants.
