This is an 1890s Elgin pocket watch with the rarer horizontal-stem movement. The watch winds and runs, albeit about 5-10 minutes slow everyday. Needs to be serviced. The crystal is made of glass. The movement is made of the rarer nickel-plated parts rather than brass. This watch in particular is railroad grade, which needs the bezel removed in order to access both the movement (which swings out) and the setting lever.
