First edition, twelfth printing hardcover copy of Ariel: Poems by Sylvia Plath (Harper & Row, 1966). The copy printed in 1980. With introduction by Robert Lowell. Posthumously published collection of poetry that Plath wrote in the last months of her too-short life. By the author of The Bell Jar.
Price-clipped jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including chipping, creasing and small tears, the larger of which have tape applied to interior side. Some staining to jacket, most notably to top edge. Boards are straight and clean but with corners bumped. Binding is firm and spine is fairly straight. Previous owner’s embossed stamp to half title page. Stained area to top edge of text block. Otherwise pages are unmarked though tanned. See photos for condition.
