A pair of antique carved shell cameo earrings featuring beautifully detailed female faces in classic Victorian style. The carving is of excellent quality which shows the classical feautures of these similar faces and elaborate hairstyles. The shell is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips that I can see. Set in an unmarked silver tone metal with a thin gold tone rim, the soft ivory color of the raised faces are carved against the pink-beige background of the natural shell. Though the metal is unmarked, there is a patina which I have left untouched. The screw backs are in strong working condition. The backs may be slightly out of allignment as they are perviously worn but this is consistent with the age of these earrings. They are in useable, wearable vintage condition.
