Cross Signet (Century's Roots) Reissue

This is a Cross Signet reproduction.

The original "Signet" was released in 1935. The Signet is a predecessor to Cross's iconic Century series (which started in the 1940s) and is characterized by its very elegant silhouette. You can see that the Signet already featured Cross's characteristic conical top. Also, the curve of the clip, when viewed from the side, is much more voluminous than the Century, and is well-harmonized with the ball clip.

The history of Cross ballpoint pens began with this Signet and continues to this day.

The reproduction version seems to have been released in platinum and gold-filled versions in addition to this sterling silver one. This model has three lacquer bands, so it is sterling silver. (The ones with four lacquer bands are platinum.)

A model similar to this Signet is the 150th Anniversary model sold in 1996, which is seen relatively often, but the Signet reproduction is rarely seen.

Since it has been used, there are minor scratches on the barrel, but the twist mechanism works fine and you can use it immediately upon arrival.

The item for sale is only the ballpoint pen in the image; there are no other cases or accessories.
