Extremely rare experimental desert uniform. These were produced in 1990 and are the last “chocolate chip” or six color Desert Battle Dress Uniform to be manufactured for the U.S. military. The uniform features several unique features, including Velcro style pocket closures, a zipper fly, and redesigned cuffs and lower coat pockets (the last two features would later be incorporated into all BDUs after 1993).
Experimental Desert Uniforms were fielded too late for Desert Storm but saw use by peacekeepers in the Sinai and by Opposing Force (OpFor) units at Fort Irwins National Training Center (NTC). This particular uniform was used at NTC and still has all its original insignia.
Uniform is used with several small dark stains. Shirt is more faded than the trousers. See photos for details.
Shirt and trousers are both size small regular.
Extremely rare uniform: the only one I have seen in 20+ years of collecting.
