Restoring/repurposing eyewear:
When a customer orders PRESCRIPTION sunglasses, the frame is sent to a lab where new lenses are made and inserted into the frame. The order is returned to the retailer for the customer to pick up. The original branded NON-PRESCRIPTION sunglass lenses from the frame are also sent back and often just discarded.
I started fitting overstock frames with these lenses so they don't go to waste, perfect for contact lens wearers or those without a prescription. Quality lenses are typically the most expensive part of any pair of glasses whether they are polarized, mirror coated, etc.. I have been an optician for many years and I love restoring and repurposing eyewear.
