"Intimate Distance" is a photobook by American photographer Todd Hido.
Hido, influenced by masters such as Walker Evans, Stephen Shore, Alfred Hitchcock, and Dennis Hopper, is known as a leading figure who carries on the tradition of "road trips," a cornerstone of American photography, into the modern era. He is one of the leading figures in the contemporary photography world.

His work is characterized by its skillful capture of the eerie atmosphere that permeates "darkness," and its poetic depiction of the mystery lurking on the roadside. He has published masterpieces such as "House Hunting" and "A Road Divided."

This book, "Intimate Distance," is a compilation of Hido's career spanning approximately 25 years from the 1990s, and comprehensively includes the aforementioned representative works, as well as major series such as "Outskirts," "Roaming," and "Excerpts from Silver Meadows." The text is by David Campany and Katja Thiele.
