x2 Creigiau Cups & Saucers

Two Creigiau cups & saucers one saucer has a small chip, the other set is is in very good condition. See photos They are made from stoneware clay, which is a durable, high-fired ceramic. The brown and green colouring comes from glazes applied before the final firing: Brown outer glaze → gives a warm, earthy finish. Green inner & saucer glaze → a contrasting glaze, often celadon-inspired, used by Creigiau. The words “Boré Da” (Welsh for “Good Morning”) are incised into the surface and left unglazed or lightly glazed, so they stand out. Stoneware was chosen because it’s tougher and less porous than earthenware — suitable for everyday use like tea/coffee cups, but still with that rustic handmade look.
