When opening and closing, it's secured by the clasp in the last photo, so close it slowly. I pinched my finger by closing it too quickly.
The lock is set to 000.
To set the lock, first, with the lid open, align the numbers to "000".
Next, look inside the dial lock case and you'll see a small protrusion (like a claw). Lift that protrusion up.
While the protrusion is lifted, set the dial to your desired number.
Release the lifted protrusion, and the number is set.
